Tell us a little bit about yourself!
I was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. I am very passionate about makeup and I feel a rush of happiness each time I work on a client or handle makeup. Currently, I work as an office administrator and also as a makeup artist. I also love photography and interior designs, especially for homes 🙂
Why did you decide to become a makeup artist?
I believe that makeup is an art with which you can express yourself. I remember back in university, while I was in my final year, I began to fall in love with makeup artistry. I started trying it out on myself, and I was encouraged by my mum to train as a professional. So, immediately after completing my university studies, I decided to learn how to do makeup professionally and improve my craft.
Your Instagram makeup portfolio is bursting with color! Where do you find your makeup inspiration?
I get my inspiration from everyday life. Sometimes, it’s from just opening up an eyeshadow palette and BOOM!—I begin to mix colors up 🙂 Other times, I get inspiration from other makeup artists.
What types of occasions do you love doing the most?
There is nothing I love more than bridal makeup. It just brings joy to me every time. The fact that I am part of someone’s big day brings me so much joy. I also love to do proms, editorials, maternity and fashion.
What’s your favorite part of the makeup application process?
Definitely the eyes because I am of the opinion that it brings out the whole face and makes it pop! After that, of course, I will say the skin work.
What made you choose QC over all the other makeup schools out there?
Frankly, I was just searching for a good school. I remember that while searching, I stumbled on QC Makeup Makeup and, at first, I was a bit skeptical because there are quite a number of fraudulent online makeup schools. However, I must say that choosing QC was one of the best decisions I’d made that year.
I’ve also encouraged other students who also had similar doubts about QC to enroll in their online makeup courses. I’m glad I was able to convince them. One major thing that helped me make the decision to study at QC was the detail in their syllabus and instruction.
I also loved that I could do it on my own time. I loved the flexibility of their makeup courses. I also have to mention that Nathan is a brilliant makeup artist who genuinely cares about his students and goes through your assignments to give you feedback.
One of the major things QC prepared me for in the field was “makeup hygiene” amongst other things. I learned a lot about the importance of hygiene, the business part of makeup and the application.
What’s in store for you in 2019?
I see 2019 as a year of big growth. I am really looking forward to upcoming weddings and proms.
Big ups babe. Sky’s the starting point
