St. Patrick’s Day Makeup Tutorial

Stephanie Wyatt, QC Makeup Academy’s Student Ambassador, shows us how to create a green eye look perfect for celebrating this St. Patty’s Day! While green is one of the hardest colors to use in makeup, Stephanie finds a way to make it look bold and festive without being tacky. Click below to watch the tutorial! Products Needed:

Step 1

After priming the face apply clear tape on the sides of the eyes to create a sharp line. Choose a light green transition shade and blend it into the crease. Then, choose a slightly darker shade of green, or blend two shades together for your desired color like Stephanie does, and blend this into your outer crease.

Step 2

Apply concealer over the lid before applying your lid color, so the shadow stays in place and builds easily. Choose a shade of gold for the lid color. Or, like Stephanie does again, mix several different shadows to create a new gorgeous shade of gold!

Step 3

Choose a darker shade of green, mixing it with one of the shades used in the first step to darken up the crease and outer v of the eye. Then, take liquid gold eyeliner and apply it in a dome shape in the crease of the eye for an added touch of gold shimmer.

Step 4

Apply black eyeliner to the lid line and create a “flick” at the outer corner of the eye. Remove the tape and tidy up the shadow. Finish the eye look by applying concealer underneath the eye.

Step 5

Using the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, apply foundation to the entire face. Reapply concealer underneath the eye and also bake by generously applying translucent powder. Then apply bronzer and a peach shade of blush. Using a powder brush, remove the bake under the eye and apply translucent powder to the rest of the face. Finish the face by applying QC Makeup Academy’s highlighter in the shade Lunar to the cheeks, nose, cupid’s bow, inner corner of the eye, and above and below the brow. Stephanie’s Tip: Do your eye makeup first, so that you can go back and fix any mistakes.

Step 6

Using the very first light green transition shade which you applied to the crease in step 1, apply it underneath the lash line. Apply a bright green liquid liner to your water line and extend it out underneath the winged black eyeliner you applied earlier. Add lashes and your favorite mascara on both the top and bottom lashes. Stephanie’s Tip: Since the green eye look is so bold, finish with a natural-looking false lash and set with mascara.

Step 7

Finish the look with setting spray and nude lip-gloss. Like with the lashes, use a more neutral gloss so that it doesn’t compete with the bold eye look.   We can’t wait to see your bold St. Patrick’s Day makeup look!
