Makeup Artist Regulations
You do not need a license to become a makeup artist in Texas.
In the state of Texas, practicing makeup artists are not required to be licensed, as stated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation*.
Chapter 1602, Section 003-b-3 states that “This chapter does not apply to a person who […] is in the business of or receives compensation for makeup applications only”.
The certificate you’ll receive from QC Makeup Academy is sufficient proof of professional makeup training. QC’s courses are well known internationally and have helped countless graduates secure careers in the makeup industry.
*Always check the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for the latest information.
