Makeup Artist Regulations
You do not need a license to become a makeup artist in Florida.
In the state of Florida, under the newly passed “Occupational Freedom and Opportunity Act”, a license is not required by makeup artists.
The certificate you’ll receive from QC Makeup Academy is sufficient proof of professional makeup training. QC’s courses are well known internationally and have helped countless graduates secure careers in the makeup industry.
Under Section 33 (477.0135- 11) of the bill HB 1193, “A license or registration is not required for a person whose occupation or practice is confined solely to makeup application, which includes, but is not limited to, application of makeup primer, face paint, lipstick, eyeliner, eye shadow, foundation, rouge or cheek color, mascara, strip lashes, individual lashes, face powder, corrective stick, and makeup remover; but does not include manual or chemical exfoliation, semipermanent lash application, lash or brow tinting, permanent makeup application, microblading, or hair removal.”.
*Always check the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DPBR) for the latest information.
“QC Makeup Academy is great for anyone who is looking to be professionally trained in Makeup Artistry. With knowledgeable tutors who provide critical feedback and a great student support team, you can be confident that you will learn the fundamentals of being a professional makeup artist.”
