Take a peek inside the Master Makeup Artistry course and follow along with celebrity makeup artist and QC instructor, Nathan Johnson, as he explains and demonstrates the editorial process.
Step inside just a few minutes out of the hours of instructional video you’ll receive from the Master Makeup Artistry online makeup course! Learn about the transitions of editorial makeup and how to build on looks to satisfy your clients who want to create the perfect ad. All editorial shoots tell a story, whether you’re selling makeup products, fashion, or a particular feeling, you need to capture and continue to tell the story in your makeup application.
Let’s recap:
Create transitional looks in order to build on it and capture the vision of the client or photographer
You may be told that there is not enough makeup on the model, it needs something more, or a pop of color. Start with a clean makeup look and work your way up to editorial.
Make the product the star
In this case, Nathan demonstrates a look that is selling a particular makeup product. He adds definition to the eye to draw in attention while still allowing the product to speak for itself (and loudly!).
Adding the hero/star product
A little lesson on eyeliner (in any situation)… Start thin to allow yourself, and your client, to decide how thick you want it to be. Graduate up slowly if you or your client decides there should be more drama. Throughout an editorial shoot, your clients and photographers will tell you what they want, and it might be something new. Be ready and armed to meet those needs!
If you’re ready to take the makeup artistry industry by storm, these lessons will help you get there. Learning makeup online is convenient, effective, affordable, and fun! Don’t waste all your time watching YouTube makeup tutorials that just simply don’t give you the depth you need to be successful in both makeup and business. Instead, learn from and get direct feedback from the pros through a QC Makeup Academy course!
