My Makeup Kit Holiday Wish List - Beauty Buzz Skip to main content

With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it couldn’t be a better time to start shopping for new makeup and skincare products.  Many brands release new palettes, gift sets and some pretty awesome makeup discounts for your holiday lists. I’ve done my own shopping recently and stocked up on some essentials for my professional makeup kit as well as my personal makeup kit.

Check out my wish list below!

RCMA KJB Complexion Palette

This palette is one of my favorite products in my kit. These cream foundations go on smoothly to create the look of clean, beautiful skin. This palette includes 12 foundation shades, 5 mixers, and a thinner to give you the ability to mix your own foundations. I’ve found that the consistency of the foundations turns out so good on camera.

RCMA No Color Powder

Have you ever taken a picture and had white flashback from the powder you applied? No need to worry anymore about that! RCMA’s No Color Powder has come to save the day!

I have searched and searched for a powder to use for film and finally decided to try this powder out. From what I have seen, it fills in fine lines under the eyes and sets makeup without looking heavy.

Senna Slipcover Palette Cheeky Blush Mini

This is the first time I’ve purchased or used a cream blush. Also, I haven’t tried the brand, Senna, before, and I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting into. This blush is highly pigmented so only a little is needed at a time. Just like the RCMA foundations, it applies smoothly, leaving a beautiful, pigmented color on the cheek.

Jordane Cosmetics Concealer Tray

I found this company at a recent makeup trade show in my area. I had never heard of this company before so I thought I would give them a shot.

I loved the quality of their cream concealers and how well they cover for color correction. However, after much research, I found that this company is a makeup manufacturer. While they give their clients the ability to create their own cosmetic formula, they also have pre-made products anyone can pay to put their name on and sell as that person’s own brand. As I grow in my experience, I am learning more and more about the companies that are self-made and those that either copy other brands or sell other products as their own. Always do your research on brands.

Too Faced Hangover Primer

Another product that I haven’t tried before was the Too Faced Hangover Primer. This primer hydrates the skin and contains coconut water. In our makeup artist training, we are taught to prep the skin with lotion. For those with dry skin, they may need some extra help to keep their skin hydrated. A hydrating primer is a wonderful way to do just that!

Benefit Porefessional Face Primer

This is a staple product in my kit and another one of my favorites. For creating flawless skin, I use this primer to fill in pores, fine line, and wrinkles. This product helps you create a somewhat airbrushed foundation look when you use the right products. Pair this with your RCMA foundation and you have a dream team for beautiful skin!

Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray

To keep makeup looking fresh for all-day wear, I use Urban Decay’s All Nighter Setting Spray. I have used many different brands of setting sprays in the past. This one has exceeded all of my expectations in a setting spray.

Dermalogica Skin Kit

With being a makeup artist, we have to be prepared to take care of all skin types. Dermalogica has this awesome skin cleansing kit I love. I can buy kits for specific skin types and have my kit fully stocked for any skin type.

Discover new products to use is part of the fun in becoming a makeup artist. The more experience you have, the more you know what to look for in your products. Enjoy this season to catch up on the last product releases and test them all out. Happy shopping and happy holidays!
